The election of the Abbott Government has given some employers an incentive to make it very difficult for Union officials to gain entry to the dining room to speak to members. As a consequence, the Union has had to look for innovative solutions to ensure the membership is not isolated.
The AMIEU has now rolled out a new mobile office!
The design and construction was approved by the Branch Executive in March 2013. The mobile office will allow members to meet with Union officials at their convenience without the interference of some draconian employers. It will also be a much more suitable meeting place than rooms currently being allocated by aggressive anti-union employers –like training rooms and rooms immediately next to the boss’s office, or a location that is just plainly inappropriate!
So, keep your eye out for the AMIEU mobile office at a location near you!
