Teys will be asking you to vote on their EBA offer very shortly. They must give you a copy of the offer and other related documents for period of 7-days before you will be asked to vote via an anonymous electronic ballot.

The AMIEU recommends workers REJECT Teys’ EBA offer.

VOTE NO!

YOU DESERVE BETTER

After six bargaining meetings, your Bargaining Committee fought hard to improve Teys’ original proposal.

We won important improvements—but Teys has refused to negotiate the claims that matter most to workers.

YOUR UNION WON

✅ Brisbane CPI remains your wage safety net

✅ Protection for future CPI increases after the EBA expires

✅ Junior rates removed after training/six months’ experience

✅ Improved shift loadings for some employees

✅ Earlier double-time on public holidays

✅ Better protections around 12-hour shifts

✅ Stronger stand-down protections

✅ Shift changes only by agreement

✅ Better annual leave protections

✅ Improved Union Delegate rights

These gains happened because workers stood together through their union.

BUT THE BIG ISSUES REMAIN UNRESOLVED

Teys has rejected the Union’s key claims, including:

❌ Real wage growth above inflation

❌ Real overtime rates

  • Time-and-a-half for the first two overtime hours
  • Double time after two hours
  • Proper Saturday and Public Holiday overtime

❌ 15% afternoon shift loading for all classifications

❌ Paid rest breaks

❌ Fair Christmas annual leave arrangements

❌ Enforceable bonus payments

❌ Worker consultation on staffing and workloads

❌ Proper facilities for Union Delegates

WE CAN DO BETTER

The Union believes this offer does not fairly reward the hard work of Teys employees.

Although improvements have been won, the most important claims remain unresolved.

The AMIEU believes this offer should be REJECTED.

A NO vote sends a clear message to Teys that workers expect:

REAL WAGE GROWTH

Not just keeping up with inflation.

REAL OVERTIME RATES

Fair pay for the extra hours you work.

FAIR & SUSTAINABLE WORKLOADS

Proper consultation on staffing, production targets and workplace pressures.

YOUR VOTE MATTERS

Voting NO means telling Teys:

Come back to the bargaining table and negotiate a fair agreement.

The Union is ready to continue fighting—but success depends on workers standing together.
