WorkCover Queensland recently reported on their website that the number of statutory claims in the Meat and Meat Product Manufacturing Industry were on the rise for the 2012-13 period.

They determined a majority of injuries in this industry were caused by the use of knives, resulting in lacerations and muscle strains.  They believe a lot of issues are caused by the use of blunt knives resulting in injuries such as tendonitis, carpal tunnel and musculoskeletal injuries.

A sharper knife can significantly reduce the amount of force a worker needs to use to complete their job safely and efficiently.
